Since 1999 the Waste Wise Events programs enabled event organisers to increase awareness of sustainability issues to their patrons. The events also benefited from the tangible results of reducing, reusing and recycling waste to maximise the full potential of valuable resources. This program has now ceased.

The supporting materials and the tools developed by Sustainability Victoria to assist with waste management at events will now be available in other ways.

Event organisers are encouraged to check out the Sustainable Living Foundation's Events Planner website that provides up to date information, tools and checklists to support waste management at events. This guide is most suitable for large events and those with professional organisers.
