FluoroCycle is an initiative of the Australian Government and the Lighting Council of Australia.

 

FluoroCycle targets commercial and public lighting which accounts for approx 90% of all lighting waste. Commercial lighting includes

  • streets, roads and parks
  • Commercial and government buildings
  • industrial operations
  • institutions such as universities, hospitals, schools and sports venues

Signatories to the scheme make a commitment to adhere to the FluroCycle Guidlines 2010

Signatories can be 'Commercial Users', 'Facilitators' or both

Commercial users commit to recycling their mercury containing lamps. Facilitators promote the program.
